GROUP DESCRIPTION

PARENTS OF ADOLESCENT GROUP: NEW IDEAS AND DIRECTIONS

Helping your adolescent negotiate high school and prepare to leave home? Trying not to go crazy in the process? This group will focus on the challenges of raising an older adolescent. Often struggles over independence and self-reliance intensify as high school progresses and college applications loom. Adolescents of this age need problem solving instruction and this group will draw on Mike Riera’s concept of the parent as consultant.

We will focus on the problems that you bring in and work on creating a conversation with your teenager so that they can listen.

This group will offer you a chance to talk with other parents and share solutions to common problems.
